Out of electron and proton which one will have, a higher velocity to produce matter waves of the same wavelength ? Explain it.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`lamda = (h)/(mv)`. For same value of `lamda` for two different particles, `(h)/(m_(1)v_(1))= (h)/(m_(2)v_(2)). " i.e., " m_(1)v_(1) = m_(2) v_(2)`. Thus, less the mass, greater will be the velocity. Hence, electron will have greater velocity
