Earthworm does not have lungs or special respiratory organs. In them, respiration (gaseous exchange) takes place by the skin (body wall).This type of respiration is known as cutaneous respiration. Secetions of gland cells of the epidermis and coelomic fluids keeps skin (body wall) mois and this facilitates cutaneous respiration.
