cos^-1(4/5)+tan^-1(3/5)=tan^-1(27/11)...

`cos^-1(4/5)+tan^-1(3/5)=tan^-1(27/11)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let `cos^(-1)4/5=theta`. Then, `costheta=4/5`.
`therefore tantheta=sqrt(1-cos^(2)theta)/(costheta)=sqrt(1-16/25)//(4//5)=(3/5 xx 5/4) = 3/4`
`rArr theta=tan^(-1)3/4`.
`therefore cos^(-1)4/5=tan^(-1)3/4`.
`therefore cos^(-1)4/5+tan^(-1)3/5=tan^(-1)3/4+tan^(-1)3/5 = tan^(-1)((3/4+3/5)/(1-3/4xx3/5))=tan^(-1)27/11`.
