Equal volumes of two solutions with pH=4...

Equal volumes of two solutions with pH=4 and pH = 10 are mixed. The pH of resulting solution will be

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

pH = 4 means `[H^(+)] = 10^(-4)` M and pH = 10 means `[H^(+)]=10^(-10)M or [OH^(-)]=10^(-4)M`.
Thus, they will exactly neutralise each other and pH of the resulting solution will be = 7 .
