a rectangular sheet of paper of dimension `44 xx 22 cm^2` is rolled first along its length and then along its breadth to form a cylinder. Find the ratio of the total surface area of cylinders hence formed.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

radius of 1st cylinder=`2pir=22cm`
`r=22/(pi*2)=11/pi=7/2`cm
radius of 2nd cylinder=`2pir=44cm`
`r=22/pi=7cm`
CSA=`2pir*h`
`(CSA_1)/(CSA_2)=(2pirh)/(2pirh)`
`=(2*pi*44*(7/2))/(2*pi*7*22)=1`.
