Magnitude of vector which comes on addit...

Magnitude of vector which comes on addition of two vectors, `6hati+7hatj` and `3hati+4hatj` is

A

`sqrt(132)`

B

`sqrt(136)`

C

`sqrt(160)`

D

`sqrt(202)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

Given, `A=6hati+7hatj and B=3hati+4hatj`
Sum of two vectors=A+B
`=(6hati+7hatj)+(3hati+4hatj)`
`=(6+3)hati+(7+4)hatj`
`=9hati+11hatj`
Therefore, magnitude of the sum of two vectors
`=sqrt((9)^(2)+(11)^(2))=sqrt(81+121)=sqrt(202)`
