The cahrge on `4muF` capacitor in the given circuit (in `muC`) is

A

B

24

C

36

D

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Since, the capacitors `1muF` and `5muF` are in parallel, the equivalent capacitance is `C'=6muF`
The corresponding equivalent circuit diagram is shown in the figure.
As the change on `4muF` and `6muF` are same.
`therefore4muFxxV_(1)=6muFxxV_(2)`
`V_(1)=(3)/(2)V_(2)`

Now, `V_(1)+V_(2)=10,(5V_(1))/(3)=10`
`thereforeV_(1)=6V`.
Charge on `4muF` capacitor is
`4xx6muC=24muC`.
