A tuning fork A frequency 384Hz gives 6 beats in 2 seconds when sounded with another tuning fork B. What could be the frequency of B?

Text Solution

The frequency of beats is `|v_1-v_2|` which is 3Hz according to the problem. The frequency of the tuning form B is either 3Hz more of 3 Hz less than the frequency of A. Thus, it coud be either 381 Hz or 387Hz.
