(1)Opiods binds to specific opioid receptors which are present in central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract.Some opioids e.g.heroine act like depressants and slow all the body functions(2)Cannabinoids have the capacity to intract with receptors present in the brain.Inhalation or ingestion of cannabinoids such as marijuana,hashish,charas and ganja have adverse effect on cardiovascular system.(3)Cannabinoid like LSD causes hallucinations.(4)All these substances are addictive and hence cause adverse effects on the body and health.
