Three cubes each of the volume `216 cm^3` are joined end to end to from a cuboid .Find total surface area of the resulting cuboid.

A

`504` sq.cm

B

`604` sq. cm

C

`704` sq. cm

D

The correct Answer is:
A

Edge of each cube`=^3sqrt(216) cm `= 6 cm
Length of resulting cuboid l= 18 cm
Breadth of resulting cuboid b = 6 cm
Height of resulting cuboid h=6 cm

`therefore ` total surface area of the cuboid
`= 2(lb +bh +lh)=2(18xx6 +6 xx6 +18 xx6 )cm^2`
`=2(108 + 36 +108)cm^2`
`=(2xx 252 )cm^2 = 504 cm^2`
