What is the action of the following reagents on glucose ?
(a) Bromine water (b) Hydroxylamine

Racemates : When equimolar quantities of dextro and laevo isomers are mixed the resulting mixture is found to be optically inactive due to external compensation. Such an optically inactive mixture is known as racemate.
