In figure, the switch is in the position 1 for long time, then the switch is shifted to position 2 at `t=0`. At this instant the value of `i_1` and `i_2` are

A

`E/R,0`

B

`E/R,(-E)/R`

C

`E/(2R),(-E)/(2R)`

D

None of these

The correct Answer is:
B

At `t=0, i=E//R`
Now, this current will decay in closed loop in anti clockwise direction. So, `|i_2|=i_2=E//R` in upward or opposite direction.
Hence, `i_2=-E/R`
