Assertion : A transistor amplifier in ...

Assertion : A transistor amplifier in common emitter configuration has a low input impedence.
Reason : The base to emitter region is forward biased.

A

If both assertion and reason are true and reason is the correct explanation of assertion.

B

If both assertion and reason are truw but reason is not correct explanation of assertion

C

If assertion is true but reason is false

D

If both assertion and reason are false.

The correct Answer is:
B

Input impedance of common emitter configuration`=(DeltaV_(BE))/(Deltai_(B))//v_(CE)="constant"`
Where `DeltaV_(BE)`=voltage across base and emitter,
`Deltai_(B)`=Base current which is order of few microampere.
Thus input impedance of common emitter is low.

Common emitter amplifier

If a transistor is used in common -emitter mode as an amplifier, then

In a transistor, emitter is always orward biased. Why?

Define the dynamic output resistance of a transistor amplifier in common - emitter configuration.

A transistor is used in the common emitter mode as an amplifier . Then

Assertion: In a transistor amplifier, the output voltage is always out of phase with the input voltage. Reason: The emitter base junction is reverse biased and the base collector junction is forward biased.
