In sine wave , minimum distance between ...

In sine wave , minimum distance between 2 particles always having same speed is

A

`lambda/2`

B

`lambda/4`

C

`lambda/3`

D

`lambda`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Sine wave,

Particle velocity, `v_(p)=(dy)/(dt)=` slope of wave at that point .
As slope at A and B I zero. Hence the velocity at A and B will be same. Distance between A and B is `lambda/2`.
