Assertion : The time period of a pendulum on a satellite orbiting the earth in infinite
Reason:The period of a pendulum is inversely propotional to square root of acceleration due to gravity

A

If both assertion and reason are true and the reasopn is correct explanation of the assertion

B

If both assertion and reason are true and but not the correct explanation of assertion

C

If assertion is true but the reason is false

D

If both assertion and reason are false

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A

From the relation of time period
`T = 2pi sqrt((1)/(g)) rArr T prop (1)/(sqrt(g))`
When the satallite is orbiting the earth the value of `g` inside it is zero Hence the time period of pendulum at a satellate will be initialy and it is also clear that time oeriod of pendulum is inversely proporional to square root of acceleration due to gravity `g`
