Find the value of discriminant for each ...

Find the value of discriminant for each of the following equations.
`5m^(2)-m=0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
`Delta=1`

`5m^(2)-m+0=0`
Comparing with the standard form `ax^(2)+bx+c=0`
a=5,b=-1, c=0.
`Delta=b^(2)-4ac=(-1)^(2)-4(5)(0)`
=1-0=1.
