The mode of the ages of the patients is `12.31` years.

Less than 5 means 0 to 4. The age cannot be negative.
In the table, the classes are not continuous .
We get the following frequency districution table agter making the classes continuous .

From the table, the modal class is ` 9.5 - 14.5`.
Mode ` = L + [(f_(1) - f_(0))/(2f_(1)-f_(0)-f_(2))] xx h`
` = 9.5 + [(50-32)/(2 xx 50 - 32 - 36) ] xx 5`
` = 9.5 + (18/(100 -68)) xx 5`
` = 9.5 + 18/32 xx 5`
` = 9.5 + 2.8125 = 9.5 + 2.81 = 12.31`.
