Asseration: The direction of induced e.m...

Asseration: The direction of induced e.m.f. is always such as to oppose the change that causes it.
Reason: The direction of induced e.m.f. is given by Lenz's Law.

A

If both asseration and reason are true and reason is the correct explanation of assertion.

B

If both asseration and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion.

C

If assertion is true but reason is false.

D

If assertion is false but reason is true.

The correct Answer is:
B

According to Lenz's law when a magnet is moved towards the coil the direction of induced current is such that the coil repels the magnet and when the magnet moves away from the coil, the coil attracts the magnet.
