Assertion: Capacitance serves as a block...

Assertion: Capacitance serves as a block for `DC` and offers an easy path to `AC`.
Reason: Capacitance reactance is inversely proportional to frequency.

A

If both the assertion and reason are true and reason is a true explanation of the assertion.

B

If both the assertion and reason are true but the reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion.

C

If the assertion is true but reason is false

D

If both the assertion and reason are false.

The correct Answer is:
A

The capacitive reactance of capacitor is given by
`X_(C)=1/(omega C)=1/(2pi f C)`
So this is infinite for `DC (f=0)` and has a very small value of `AC`, therefore a capacitor blocks `DC`.
