Assertion : Blue colour of sky appears d...

Assertion `:` Blue colour of sky appears due to scattering of blue colour.
Reason `:` Blue colour has shortest wave length in visible spectrum.

A

If both the assertion and reason are true and reason explains the assertion.

B

If both the assertion and reason are true but reason does not explain the assertion.

C

If assertion is true but reason is false.

D

If assertion is false but reason is true.

The correct Answer is:
A

From Rayleigh criteria of scattering, we have scattering `prop (1)/(("wavelength")^(4))`
Since wavelength of blue colour is least compared to other colours, it gets scattered by atomospheric particles such as dust, water vapour ets. Because of which sky appears blue.
