Flash and thunder are produced simultaneously. But thunder is heard a few seconds after the flash is seen, why ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

This is because velocity of sound in air is only `332m//s, ` whereas velosity of light in air is `3xx10^(8)m//s`. Hence, the flash is seen much before the thunder of lightening is heard.
