Yes, staffing function is considered key to other functions of management because all other managerial functions depend on staffing. In fact, the effectivenses of other managerial functions depend on the effectiveness of the staffing function.
It an organisation employs right person, this will incrase the work efficiency of an organisation. Thus, efficient staffing helps of improve the quality of planning , organising, directing and controlling steges. At each stage, many candidate ae eliminated and only few candidates move to the next stage.
The process of elimination continues till the right ones are finalished. The above scenario clearly establishes the fact that selection is the process, through which unsuitable candidates are rejected and suitable ones are chosen.
Therefore, it is regarded as a negative process.
