A charged particle enters an environment...

A charged particle enters an environment of a strong and non-uniform magnetic field varying from point to point both in magnitude and direction, and comes out of it following a complicated trajectory. Would its final speed equal to initial speed if it suffered no collision in the environment ?

Verified by Experts

Yes. The direction of the velocity of a charged particle can change in a mangetic field, but the magnitude of velocity remain the same.

A rectangular wire loop of sides 8 cm and 2 cm with a small cut is moving out of a region of uniform magnetic field of magnitude 0.3 T directed normal to the loop. What is the mef developed across the cut if the velocity of the loop is 1 m. s^(-1) in a direction normal to the Suppose in this case the loop is stationary but the current feeding the electromagnet produces the magnetic field is gradually reduced so that the field decreases from its initial value of 0.3 T at the rate of 0.02 T. s^(-1) . If the cut is joined and the loop has a resistance of 1.6 Omega , how much power is dissipated by the loop as heat? What is the source of this power?

A particle with charge q moves with a velocity V in a direction perpendicular to the directions of uniform electric and magnetic fields, E and B respectively, which are mutually perpendicular to each other.
