A star is observed through a telescope. The diameter of the objective of the telescope is 203.2 cm. The wavelength of the light, coming from the star to the telescope is 6600Å. Find the resolving power of the telescope.

Resolving power of a telesecope,
` R = (a)/(1.22lambda) = (203.2)/(1.22xx6600xx 10^(-8))= 2.52 xx 10^(6)`
Here, the diameter of the objective of the telescope,
a = 203.2 cm
and wavelength of the incident light`lambda = 6600Å = 6600xx 10^(-8)` cm
