Calculate the wavelength, frequency and ...

Calculate the wavelength, frequency and wave-number of a light wave whose period is `2.0xx10^(-10)s`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Frequency `(v)=(1)/("period")=(1)/(2.0xx10^(-10)s)=5xx10^(9)s^(-1)`
`therefore`Wavelength `(lamda)=(c)/(lamda)=(3x10^(8)m*s^(-1))/(5xx10^(9)s^(-1))=6xx10^(-2)m`
and wave number `(overline(v))=(1)/(lamda)=(1)/(6xx10^(-2)m)=16.66m^(-1)`
