Name the common elements present in the anode mud in electrolytic refining of copper. Why are they so present?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The common elements in anode mud in electrolytic refining of copper are antimony, selenium, tellurium, silver, gold and platinum. These elements are less reactive. Hence, they are not affected by `CuSO_(4)-H_(2)SO_(4)` solution. So they settle down under anode as anode mud.
