In a grease spot photometer light from a lamp with dirty chimney is exactly balanced by a point source distance 10 cm from the grease spot. On clearing the chimney, the point source is moved 2 cm to obtain balance again. The percentage of light absorbed by dirty chimney is nearly

A ball hanging from a beam is balanced against weight placed on the other pan. Another ball is so placed that its centre is 2 cm vertically below the centre of the first ball. The two spheres are now charged equally and balancing weight has to be changed by 2.55 gwt to restore the balance. Calculate charge on each sphere.

A converging beam of light forms a sharp image on a screen. A lens is placed in the path of the beam at 10 cm from the screen. It is found that the screen has to be moved 8 cm further away from the lens to obtain a sharp image. Find the focal length and nature of the lens.

An unknown resistance is connected in a left gap of a metre bridge . The balance point is obtained when a resistance of 10 Omega is taken out from the resistance box in the right gap. On increasing the resistance from the resistance box by 12.5 Omega the balance point shifts by 20 cm. find the unknown resistance.

In a metre bridge when the resistance in the left gap is 2Omega and an unknown resistance in the right gap, the balance point is obtained at 40 cm from the zero end. On shunting the unknown resistance with 2Omega find the shift of the balance point on the bridge wire.

In a meter bridge when the resistance in the left gap is 4 Omega and an unknown resistance in the right gap the balance point is obtained at 40 cm from the zero end. On shunting the unknown resistance with 4 Omega , find the shift of the balance point on the bridge wire
