A body starting from rest has an acceleration of `25ms^(-2)`. Find the distance travelled by it in `20^("th")` second.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Acceleration of a body 'a' `=25ms^(-2)`
Distance travelled during `n^("th")` Second
`=u+(a)/(2)(2n-1)`
`because` Distance travelled during `20^("th")` Second
`=u+(a)/(2)(2n-1)`
Initial velocity `u=0, a = 25ms^(-2)`
Distance travelled `=0+(25)/(2)(2xx20-1)=(25)/(2)(40-1)`
`=(25)/(2)(39)=487.5m`
