For a given material, the youngs modulus is 2.4 times that of rigidity modulus. What is its poisson's ratio ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`Y = 2G(1 + sigma)`
So, `2.4 = 2G (1 + sigma)`
or `sigma = 1.2 - 1 = 0.2`
