An aeroplane flying at 540 kmph drops a missile towards the ground. If the height of the plane is 1000m then calculate (i) time taken by the missile to hit the ground & (ii) the horizontal distance covered by the missile form the initial point. `(g=9.8ms^(-2))`

`v_0=150ms^(-1), theta=0^(@)`
`h=1000m,g=9.8,s^(-2)`
By applying `y=(v_0sintheta)t+1/2gt^2,y=h,theta=0^(@)`
We get, `1000=(150sin0^(@))t+1//2xx9.8t^2`
i.e, `1000=4.9t^2`
`:." "t=sqrt((1000)/(4.9))=14.3s`
