Statement : The pressure of a mixture of non - interacting ideal gases is the algebraic sum of their partial pressure.
Explanation : Let `mu_(1), mu_(2), mu_(3)` .. Be the number of molecs of on ideal gas at the same temperature and for the given volume.
Total number of moles of gas = `(mu_(1) + mu_(2) + mu_(3) + ......) and PV = (mu_(1) + mu_(2) + mu_(3) + .......)RT`
i.e. `P = (mu_(1)RT)/(V) + (mu_(2)RT)/(V) + (mu_(3)RT)/(V) +`
i.e. `P = P_(1) + P_(2) + P_(3) + .......`
where `P_(1), P_(2), P_(3)` represent partial pressures of ideal gases 1,2,3 ...........
