A body of mass m is suspended by two strings making angles `alpha and beta` with the horizontal. Find the tensions in the strings.

Let `T_(1)` and `T_(2)` be the tensions in the strings as shown in figure.

For horizontal equilibium
`T_(1)cos alpha=T_(2) cos beta`
For vertical equilibium,
`T_(1) sin alpha+T_(2) sin beta=mg`
`T_(1)sin alpha+T_(1)(cosalpha)/(cosbeta)sin beta=mg`
`T_(1)((sin alpha cos beta+sin beta cos alpha))/(cos beta)=mg`
`T_(1)(sin(alpha+beta))/(cos beta)=mg, T_(1)=(mgcosbeta)/(sin(alpha+beta))`
From Eqn.(i) `T_(2)=(mg cosalpha)/(sin(alpha+beta))`
