A train rounds an unbanked circular bend of radius 30 m at a speed of `54 km//h`. The mass of the train is `10^(6)` kg. What provides the centripetal force required for this purpose - The engine or the rails ? What is the angle of banking required to prevent wearing out the rails ?

Here r = 30 m, `nu` = 54 km/h = 15 m/s , mass of a train m = 10 kg .
The centripetal force F = `mv^(2) / r ` for negotiating the circular track is provided by the force of lateral friction due to rain on the wheels of the train.
