Water is extremely necessary for the existence of different forms of life on earth. It constitutes about 65-70% of the body weight of plants and animals. Since water has a high specific heat, thermal conductivity. Surface tension, dipole moment, dielectric constant compared to other liquids, it plays a vital role in the biosphere. due to high heat of vaporisation of water, it is able to moderate the body temperature. Water also indirectly helps in climate control. In the living body, water helps to transport minerals, nutrients and enzymes to the different parts of the body and also affects the process of metabolism. water is vital component in the process of photosynthesis. therefore, water plays a significant role in the biosphere.
