Consider a magnet surround by a wire with an on`//` of switch `S` (figure) if the switch is thrown from the off position (open circuit) to the on position the (closed circuit).

Verified by Experts

`phi = BA cos theta` so flux linked will change only when either B or A or the angle between B and A change. When switch is thrown from off position to the on position, then neither B nor A nor the angle between A and B change. Thus there is no change in magnetic flux linked with the coil, hence no electromotive force (e.m.f.) is produced and consequently no current will flow in the circuit.
