State Newton's law of viscosity of fluid...

State Newton's law of viscosity of fluids in motion.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Viscous drag force .F. is directly proportional to the area of cross section (A) of the layer and inversely proportional to the velocity gradient. `i.e., F=-etaA((dv)/(dx))` where .n. is coefficient of viscosity of fluids. The -ve sign indicates that the frictional force opposes the flow.
