A tank is filled with water upto a height H=1.00m. Water is allowed to come out of a hole in one of the walls at a depth h =0.20m below the surface of water. Calculate the range of the jet of water from the orifice.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given h=0.20m, H=1.00m
We know that `x=2 sqrt(h(H-h))`
i.e, `x=2sqrt((0.2)(1-0.2) =2sqrt(0.2 xx 0.8)`
=1.6m
Rangle of the jet is 0.8m
