A restoring force is a must for a body to execute `S.H.M` Explain, why

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
For a body to execute. `S.H.M`, it should oscillate about its mean position, when the body is at mean position, it possesses kinetic energy and by virtue of it, the body moves form the mean position to extreme position. The body can return to the mean position, if it acted upon by a restoring force.
