Define relative error and percentage error in a measurement .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let the accurate value of a physical quantity = x and a measured value = x+ `Deltax (Deltax ` may be positive or negative).
Then in this measurement,
relative error = `(Deltax)/(x)` , percentage error = `(Delta x)/(x) xx 100%`
