By mixing 210 g of salt in 1 L of water,...

By mixing 210 g of salt in 1 L of water, 1.05 L of solution is produced. Determine the density of that solution.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Mass of the solution
= mass of water + mass of salt
`(1000+210)g" "[because"Mass of 1 L of water"=1000g]` = 1210 g
Volume of the solution = 1.05 L = `1050cm^(3)`.
`therefore` Density of the solution = `("mass of the solution")/("volume of the solution")`
`=1210/1050=1.152g*cm^(-3)`.
