Torque and work are both equal to force time distance. How do they differ ?

Work is equal to the product of an applied force and the displacement caused in the direction of free. Is salar quantity. On the other hand, tongue is measured as the product of the force and its perpendicular distance from the ads of rotation. It is vector quantity.
