The correct Answer is:
D

(D) If order of reaction w.r.t G is x and w.r.t H is y, then on doubling [G] and [H] the rate becomes 8 times i.e
`2^(x) 2^(y) =8 "or " 2^((x+y))= 2^(3)`
`:. ` x+y=3
`:.` Order of reaction =3

Show that the rate of first order reaction is doubled when concentration of the reactant is doubled.

For the reaction A+B rarr products. The rate becomes doubled when concentration of only A is increased by two times, the rate is increased by four times, when the concentration of B alone is double. What is the order of the reaction ?
