Find the dimensions of mass in terms of ...

Find the dimensions of mass in terms of Energy, length and time.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let the dimensions of Energy, Length and Time be [E],[L],[T] respectively.
We know that Force = mass `xx` acceleration
Mass = `("Force")/("acceleration") = ("Work done (or) Energy")/("acceleration" xx "displacement")`
`[m] = ("Energy")/(["acceleration"]["displacement"]) = ([E])/([LT^(-2)][L]) = ([E])/([L^(2)T^(-2)]) = [EL^(-2)T^(2)]`
