Output characteristics of an n-p-n transistor in CE configuration is shown in the Fig. Determine

(i) dynamic output resistance (ii) dc current gain and (iii) ac current gain at an opererating point `V_(CE)=10V`, when `I_(B)=30muA`.

From the graph at `V_(ce) = 10 v` and `I_(B) =30 muA`
(i) To calculate the dynamic output resistance of around the operating point 10 V. This will result in small change in `I_(c )`
(ii) When `i_(b) = 30 muA , I_( c) =3.6 m A v_(CE) = 10 V`
`beta_(de) = (I_(c ))/( I_(b)) = (3.6 mA)/( 30 muA) =(3.6 xx 10^(-3))/( 30 xx 10^(6)) =120`
(iii) At `V_(CE) = 10 V Delta I_(b) =(40 -30) muA`
`Delta I_(c ) = (4.7 - 3.6 ) mA`
The ac current f gain is
`=(1.1 xx 1 0^(-3))/( 10 xx 10^(-6)) = 110`
