How does the width of the depletion layer of a p-n junction diode change with decrease in reverse bias?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In forward biase width of depletion layer decrease . In forward bias . The p-side of the p-n junction and n-side of p-n junction is negligible in forward biase . During forward biase applied DC voltage opposces the potential difference difflusion across the p-n junction .As a result the potential drop across the junction decreases which layer then and hence p-n junction offers low resistance.
