Classify the following redox reactions:
a. `N_(2)(g)+O_(2)(g)rarr 2NO(g)`
b. `2Pb(NO)_(3)(s)rarr2PbO(s)+2NO_(2)(g)+(1)/(2)O_(2)(g)`
c. `NaH(s)H_(2)O(l)rarr NaOH(aq)+H_(2)(g)`
d. `2NO_(2)(g)+2overset(ө)OH(aq)rarrNO_(2)^(ө)(aq)+NO_(3)^(ө)(aq)+H_(2)O(l)`

(a) `overset(0)(N_2)(g)+overset(0)(O_2)(g)rarroverset(+2-2)(2NO(g))`
The compound nitric oxide is formed by the combination of elemental substances `(N_2 and O_2)` . Therefore , it is combination redox reaction.
(b) `overset(+2+5-2)(2Pb(NO_3)_2)(s) overset("Heat")rarroverset(+2-2)(2bO)(s)+overset(+4-2)(2NO_2(g))+1/2overset(0)O_2(g)`
Lead nitrate decomposes to form three products and therefore it is a decomposition redox reaction.
(c) `overset(+1-1)(NaH(s))+overset(+1-2)(H_2O(l))rarroverset(+1-2+1)(NaOH)(aq)+2overset(0)H_2(g)`
Hydrogen of water has been displaced by hydride ion to form dihydrogen gas. Therefore , it is displacement redox reaction.
(d) `overset(+4)(2NO_2(g))+2OH^(-)(aq)rarroverset(+3)(NO_2)""^(-)(aq)+2overset(0)(H_2(g))`
In this reaction , the +4 oxidation state of nitrogen (in `NO_2` ) decreases , to +3 (in `NO_2^(-)` ) and increases to +5 (in `NO_3^(-)` ) . Therefore , it is disproportionation redox reaction.
