(i) which of the electrode is negatively charged,
(ii) the carriers of the current in the cell, and
(iii) individual reaction at each electrode.

The cell may be depicted similar to Fig . The cell may be represented as
`Zn(s) |Zn^(2+)(aq) ||Ag^(+)(aq) |Ag(s)`
(i) Zinc electrode (anode)
(ii) Current will flow from silver to zinc in the external ci+rcuit.
(iii) At anode : `Zn(s) rarr Zn^(2+) (aq) +2e^(-)`
At cathode : `Ag^(+) (aq) +e^(-) rarr Ag(s)`
