Explain the merits of genetic engineering when compared to traditional hybridisation procedures .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Traditional hybridisation procedures, very often lead to inclusion and multiplication of undesirable genes along with the desired genes. But genetic engineering overcomes this limitation and allows to isolate and introduce only or a set of desirable genes without introducing unde-sirable genes into the target organism.
