Briefly explaing the 'cutting' and 'ligation' of DNA during recombinant DNA technology or how is recombinant DNA produced ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

.Cutting. of DNA is by restriction enzymes. Purified DNA molecules are incubated with restriction endonucleases to make the .cut. . This pro-cess is repeated in vector also .
The .ligation. of DNA involves several processes. The cut out .gene of inter-est. from the source DNA and the cut vector with space are mixed and DNA ligase is added . This result in the preparation of recombinant DNA .
