When a foreign DNA is introduced into an organism, how is it maintained in the host and how is it transferred to the progeny of the organism?

After introduciton of forgein DNA into by ligating ot plasmin vecotr . When plasmid replicates, it form several copies, foreign gene also get replicated . After division of host , daughter of host , daughter organisms also recevie copies of plasmid DNA having foreign gene .
